It features foliage that is finer and more narrow leaves than the species. In spring, leaves emerge with a strong purple cast and fade into a bright green center with a purple halo margin. Fall color is a long-lasting, elaborate autumn color display of ever-changing yellow, orange, burgundy and red hues.
