This Chinese wisteria is a fast-growing, deciduous, twining vine that produces pinnately compound, green leaves that are accented by weeping clusters of pea-like purple flowers in April. The blooms are attractive to butterflies and other pollinators. Can be trained as a tree for use as a focal point and specimen planting in the sunny landscape, and also works well covering trellises, arbors, gazebos, and as a privacy screen.
